Education

Fred Hampton attended Proviso East High School, where he graduated with honors and varsity letters, and a Junior Achievement Award in 1966[3]. He later enrolled in a pre-law program at Triton Junior College in River Grove, Illinois[2].

Affiliated Organizations’ Names

Fred Hampton was a prominent leader and chairman of the Chicago, Illinois, chapter of the Black Panther Party (BPP)[5]. He was also the deputy chairman of the Illinois chapter of the BPP[2]. Hampton founded the Rainbow Coalition, a multicultural alliance among major street gangs to help put an end to infighting and work for social change[5].
