Tracee Ellis Ross is an American actress, singer, television host, producer, and director. She is best known for her lead roles in the television series “Girlfriends” (2000-2008) and “Black-ish” (2014-2022). Ross is the daughter of legendary singer Diana Ross and music manager Robert Ellis Silberstein. After graduating from Brown University with a degree in Theatre Arts, she worked in the fashion industry as an editor for magazines such as Mirabella and New York, which led to her segue into modeling and acting. Ross’s acting career took off with her role as Joan Clayton on “Girlfriends,” earning her critical acclaim and several NAACP Image Awards. She later starred as Dr. Rainbow Johnson in the ABC comedy series “Black-ish,” for which she won a Golden Globe Award and received multiple Emmy nominations.
