RuPaul Andre Charles, known mononymously as RuPaul, is an American drag queen, television personality, actor, singer, producer, and writer. He gained international fame with the single “Supermodel (You Better Work)” from his debut album “Supermodel of the World” (1993). RuPaul is the executive producer and host of the reality competition series “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” for which he has received five Primetime Emmy Awards. He is considered the most commercially successful drag queen in the United States and was included in the Time 100 list of the world’s most influential people in 2017. RuPaul has published three books and released fifteen studio albums. He made history as the first openly gay host of a network variety show with “The RuPaul Show” on VH1. RuPaul has also been a vocal advocate for the LGBTQ+ community and has been involved in various business ventures, including a cosmetic line and unisex perfume with Colorevolution
