Omar Epps is an American actor, singer, songwriter, and record producer, renowned for his roles in both film and television. Epps made his feature film debut alongside rapper Tupac Shakur in the critically acclaimed urban drama “Juice” (1992). He has since starred in a variety of films, including “Higher Learning” (1995), “Love & Basketball” (2000), and “In Too Deep” (1999). Epps is also well-known for his television roles as Dr. Dennis Gant on the medical drama series “ER” and Dr. Eric Foreman on the Fox medical drama series “House,” the latter of which earned him several NAACP Image Awards. Before his acting career, Epps was involved in music, forming a rap group called Wolfpack with his cousin in 1991. He began writing poetry, short stories, and songs at the age of ten and attended the prestigious Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts in New York City. Epps was born in Brooklyn, New York, and raised by his mother, Bonnie Maria Epps, an elementary school principal. He has been married to Keisha Spivey since 2006, and the couple has two children together, in addition to Epps’s daughter from a previous relationship. Throughout his career, Epps has demonstrated a wide range of acting abilities, making significant contributions to both the film and television industries
