Nas, born Nasir bin Olu Dara Jones, is an American rapper, songwriter, entrepreneur, and investor, widely regarded as one of the greatest rappers of all time. He emerged from the Queensbridge housing projects in Queens, New York, and began his musical career in the early 1990s. Nas’s debut album, “Illmatic” (1994), received universal acclaim and is considered one of the greatest hip-hop albums ever. His subsequent albums, including “It Was Written” (1996) and “Stillmatic” (2001), have also received critical and commercial success. Nas’s music is known for its lyrical depth, storytelling, and social commentary, addressing issues such as urban poverty, politics, and African-American culture.
