Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes was an American rapper, singer, and songwriter, best known as one-third of the Grammy-winning R&B girl group TLC. Alongside Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas, Lopes contributed to TLC’s immense success with her unique rapping skills, creative songwriting, and distinctive style. She was known for her colorful fashion choices, including her signature left eye “glasses” or eye patch. Lopes co-wrote many of TLC’s hit songs, such as “Waterfalls,” “No Scrubs,” and “Creep,” which became anthems of the 1990s. Her fiery personality and captivating performances made her a beloved figure in the music industry. Throughout her career, Lopes achieved numerous accolades, including four Grammy Awards and selling over 65 million records worldwide with TLC. In addition to her work with TLC, Lopes also pursued solo projects and was working on a second solo album at the time of her death.
