Jerry Stackhouse is a former professional basketball player and current head coach of the Vanderbilt University men’s basketball team. He played college basketball for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was a consensus first-team All-American. Stackhouse was selected third overall by the Philadelphia 76ers in the 1995 NBA Draft and went on to have an 18-year NBA career, earning two All-Star selections. After retiring as a player, Stackhouse began a coaching career, which included serving as an assistant coach for the Toronto Raptors and as head coach for the Raptors 905, the Raptors’ G League affiliate, where he won a G League championship and Coach of the Year honors. He also served as an assistant coach for the Memphis Grizzlies before taking the head coaching position at Vanderbilt. Stackhouse’s career is marked by his scoring ability, competitive spirit, and smooth transition into coaching, where he continues to influence the game of basketball.
