Fantasia Barrino, known professionally as Fantasia, is an American R&B singer and actress who rose to fame as the winner of the third season of “American Idol” in 2004. Her debut single “I Believe” hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. She released her debut album “Free Yourself” the same year, earning three Grammy nominations. Fantasia has also authored a memoir, “Life Is Not a Fairy Tale,” which was adapted into a film. She played Celie in the Broadway musical “The Color Purple” and starred in her own reality TV series “Fantasia for Real.” Her third album “Back to Me” featured the Grammy-winning song “Bittersweet.” Fantasia has faced personal and financial challenges but has continued to produce music and perform, including a stint on Broadway in “After Midnight.” She founded her own record label, Rock Soul, and has expressed a commitment to her family and music career
